Voices of Youth

In 1980, the first Voices of Youth Concert was staged at the Royal Festival Hall. Lena Phillips with Donald Swann presenting a concert of Donald's children opera "The Song of Cadman" with over 700 school children. This was such a success that Lena has directed concerts all over England in some of the most beautiful halls, churches and cathedrals, giving small choirs a chance to experience lovely venues and big audiences. Of these, 35 have been in the Purcell Room, Chichester Cathedral, Arundel Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Lancing College chapel, Kings college Chapel, London Theatres, Halls in Birmingham, Exeter, Cambridge and Brighton and major Arts Festivals including the Edinburgh Festival.

Now with over 185 of these concerts behind her and 4 Steiner Scholarships for her work with young voices, Lena is planning next years programme.
